pier. this is the oslo opera house designed by craig and snow hitter. this is an interesting building. it's an icon for oslo. the community loves it. they may never go to a opera but there enjoying the activity to the water and what encircling this building and wraps its way up as well. this is a view from higher elevation and the public can walk around and get spectacular views across the city and you can get down and touch the water as part of this development and in some ways we took inspiration of this and how could you connect the community to the water in a creative and iconic way? then we also started out by thinking about the site conditions appreciating the opportunities and the constraints that exist at this part of the waterfront, and there is some very interesting contrast. to the north the piers create much more urban everyone to the north and then you see the bridge and the sheds and the city behind. it's a more shaded side of the pier as the development is under taken. to the

ironically in 1984 the buildings on top of the piers burnt down but pier itself survived. in 1987 there was a proposal for development on 30, 32. by my count this is the sixth proposal to do some sort of significant development on peers 30 and 32. that is completely unique to this site, unlike no other project the port has done. as the port director, something that gives me great pause. we spent a lot of time as you brought up this morning supervisor avalos during the america's cup event authority lookinging at that pier in more detail and we determined there is an expensive proposition to remove, let alone try to rehabilitate it. it is sitting pier for us. as mentioned naturally deep berth. that is the whole reason the port exists on the western side is because we have naturally deep berths and can take advantage of that for the benefit so it is important to us. next door we are building the brandon street war f, requiring removal of peer 36, also row inforced and the building of a new park. the entire cost is 32 million. when i think about this, it will achieve something

so, we wanted to make that view and the view between pier 28 and pier 30 a unique view and we wanted to preserve the types of finger pier type spaceses in this particular slot. so, the buildings are of similar height along that edge. additionally as you move from main street proper looking out as you come down the hill, you know that's a very, very steep hill right there. so, if you just look on the map and you see it as flat, you think, well, you can never really see anything anyway. in fact, it's quite a steep hill. as you're coming down the hill you will have views from main street out over the water that we wanted to protect. and once again, moving the arena and multi-purpose facility to the east allowed us to do that. and also you'll see our current designs for the seawall side allows us to do that. from the embarcadaro proper, we're trying to preserve as much as possible the wide view out to the waterfront. it's not perpendicular to the waterfront as it is today. we're preserving that corner with low rise, structure is low, that will allow passersby to see out to the bay. final

i didn't identify myself on there, but i have attended all of the public workshops for input on pier 30, 32, and i would ask this commission and the staff to direct everyone who is a negotiating party to when they attend these public meetings to shut up and identify themselves. there was a lot of furor at my table at the latest est session which was quality of life because one of the negotiators of the warriors sat at our table and had input and was very vocal and didn't identify herself with the warriors until the entire thing was over, and people freaked out. i request that there be a rule and enforced on all negotiations, particularly the golden state warriors that in the case the port, owd and particularly the warriors not participate as members of the public, and wear big badges saying who they are because people hide behind anonymity and i know because i of around the block oweb -- i don't know the golden state warriors but the know the port and oweb but i'm unusual and most are true civilians and it's unfair for them to have to argue from a person from one of these groups when

i think first and foremost we are excited to be part of the solution to piers 30-32. as you know over two decades four proposals that were deep pocketed for this site. we are committed to making this one work and restoring the san francisco water use for use by all bay area residents. i think what is also important to you we believe that the project as presented will ensure new and ongoing maritime activity on all three sides of the pier site. certainly we have talked about the san francisco fire department, fire station, fire boat berths, water taxis, ferry service, guest docks and my personal favorite human powered craft, that will be operating on the south side of the pier. we have a very special interest in creating the best arena ever envisioned as a entertainment and sports facility that will be the home for warrior fans. they're amazing group and show up in thick and thin and mostly thin in the last 20 years that we're trying to change and this will set the course for a very successful franchise that we can all embrace for the next 50 years for the warriors. on
